French 75 Cocktail Recipe | Classic Champagne Gin Drink

This light and enjoyable long drink, popular in the late 80s and early 90s, combines gin and brut in an unexpectedly harmonious way with a touch of lemon. It offers a refreshing sweetness without being overly sugary. Strong, smooth, and refined, this cocktail is deceivingly innocent—easy and delightful to sip.

Method
  1. Add lemon juice and icing sugar to a shaker and stir until dissolved.
  2. Add gin and ice, then shake well.
  3. Strain the cocktail into a flute glass.
  4. Top up with champagne.
  5. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
  6. Tip: To reduce foam, pour half the champagne into the glass first, then the cocktail mixture, and finish with the remaining champagne.
