Bijou Cocktail | Classic Gin, Vermouth & Chartreuse Mix

A recipe dating back to the early 20th century, adapted for the modern bar scene. The original blend of sweet vermouth, gin, and Chartreuse creates a light and pleasant mix, with the reduced amount of Chartreuse making the drink less potent. This well-balanced cocktail offers a delicate sweetness and a gentle fruity aftertaste with hints of fresh juniper. Bijou is equally suitable for formal events or lively parties.

1 drop

orange bitters

1 piece

maraschino cherry

to taste

lemon zest

Method
  1. Add gin, green Chartreuse, sweet red vermouth, a drop of orange bitters, and ice to a shaker. Stir with a bar spoon.
  2. Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with lemon zest and a maraschino cherry.
  4. Tip: If you don't have a maraschino cherry, you can use any cocktail cherry.
